TRADITIONAL

Mahishasura Mardini

A divine depiction of Goddess Chamundeshwari's valorous act of destroying the dreadful demon Mahishasura, thus promising peace to the world.

Sampoorna Ramayanam

A detailed depiction of the story of Ramayanam set to the able kriti of Sri Swati Tirunal Maharaj- Bhaavayaami Raghuramam where more than 200 characters are vividly displayed.

Dashavataara

An interesting interpretation of the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu, the ballad is set to the mind blowing lyrics of the Ashtapadi from Sri Jayadeva's Geetha Govindam. Nandagopa, Kaliyamardana, Gokula Krishna etc. based on excerpts from Srimadbhagavatham.

Srinivasa Kalyanam

A beautiful presentation depicting the story of the marriage of majestic Srinivasa and pretty Padmavathi.

Abhijnaana Shakuntalam

A matchless composition of Kaviratna Kalidasa, Shakuntalam is presented completely in Sanskrit to lead the art lovers to ecstasy.

Prema Kashmira

Yet another thing of beauty where beauty is the hard core of the presentation! It is indeed a treat to the young hearts which succumb to love very soon. A collection of songs penned by legendary poet Kuvempu provides the perfect platform and musical support to the presentation.

Kadu Siddha

Ably guided by the well known musician Smt. H. R.Leelavathi, the play is an attempt to cheer and inculcate moral values in the young minds.

Kaaykave Kailasa

This is a delightful presentation based on the thought provoking Vachanas of great social reformers namely Basavanna, Allama prabhu, Akka Mahadevi etc. specially set to Hindustani music.

Karnataka Kalaadeepthi

Karnataka Kalaadeepthi is an excellent effort to spread the glory of the marvelous state of Karnataka and its profound culture.

Vande Mataram

Vande Mataram is a prompt effort to inspire every Indian and provoke him/her to uphold the spirits of the country. The play views India in mythological, historical, scientific and commercial angles. It is one of the most cherished presentations of Nrityagiri which has mesmerized patriots in all parts of India especially in cities of Agra, Jaipur etc. To this day this dance drama has been showcased 52 times throughout India.

Madagada Kenchavva

This is an endeavour to bring in awareness regarding social epidemics among masses and classes. It is presented in complete folk style for thorough pleasure and internalization of the need to combat the social epidemics such as sacrifice and woman assassination. It is the most successful show that Nrityagiri has performed and the play has been able to reform on-lookers including souls behind the bars. Till today 50 shows have been presented all over Karnataka.

FOLK

Madam Kripa's versatility extends beyond traditional and contemporary. Kamsale, Dollu Kunitha, Pata Kunitha etc. are a few examples of folk dances that are performed by students of Nrityagiri.

YEARLY EVENT

Recently guru Kripa started an event called the ‘Nritya Sapthaha’, which is a seven day festival on showcasing the classical Bharatnatyam dance. This takes place during the January month of every year in Mysore. This festival is the first of its kind in the state of Karnataka.

Nrityagiri’s anniversary takes place on August 2nd. Every student of the institution revels on this day by showcasing their talent.

LECTURE DEMONSTRATION

Madam Kripa has been invited by many private and government organizations alike to provide lectures and demonstrations on various topics related to all forms of dance. Few such notable organizations include the Department of Kannada and Culture, which arranges for a program called ‘Rasagrahana’, and the JSS Math in Suttur which provides a course called Refresher’s Course for teachers’ training.

Once a month, in Kendriya Vidyalaya Zonal Center in Mysore, our guru educates many fine arts teachers from other Kendriya Vidyalaya schools allover India on subjects pertaining to classical dance.

WORKSHOPS

Guru Kripa arranges many workshops for her students. Previously, Mr. Janamana Krishna taught ‘Kamsale’ and Mr. Devaraju taught ‘Dollu Kunitha’ in Nrityagiri. Recently, Vidushi Bhanumathi, a senior disciple of Dandayudhapani Pillai, was invited by guru Kripa to conduct a week long workshop for various dance schools in Mysore and Mandya.

Opportunity exchange scheme

This is the brain child of Madam Kripa that brings many artists together. This programme is meant for sharing the stage with other artists to promote oneness.

Dance for a cause

This is yet another challenging programme which consoles the souls of under privileged people such as prisoners, orphans, old and the poor who are less fortunate to experience visual treats. These performances are held at their respective places.

Narthana Parivarthana

Narthana Parivarthana is a programme that is specially designed to impart cultural education to school children and enlighten them about Hinduism through the medium of dance.
